Update 2:
-----
Unfortunately, Teck just announced they are withdrawing their application entirely - presumably because they received confirmation that it was going to be rejected.
The Liberals will try to argue that they didn't reject the project, Teck cancelled it.
They tried that argument with Energy East too.
After years and years of delays, TransCanada gave up trying to satisfy the government's never-ending list of demands and ever-moving goalposts.
Teck have spent 10 years trying to get approval for this project, meeting every possible rule, regulation, and requirement you could imagine.
Make no mistake, this cancellation is the government's fault too.
This doesn't have to be the end, however.
The federal government must apologize, invite Teck to resubmit the application, and IMMEDIATELY approve it so that the Teck Frontier Project can get back underway.

Update 1:
-----
This afternoon, news broke that means we need to step it up a whole extra level.
Five separate sources are telling the media that the Liberals plan to reject the project entirely, nevermind delay it!
Can you believe the audacity of the federal government?
Instead of approving the project (and it's not even clear they have a right to block it at all!) they're planning an aid package for Alberta?
Albertans don't want aid, we don't want handouts from the rest of Canada, we want jobs!
We want Ottawa to get out of the way and let Albertans do what we do best - developing our natural resources to the highest environmental standards in the world, creating jobs, raising families' incomes, attracting capital and people to move to our great province, and paying the bill for much of the rest of the country while we're at it.

Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government in Ottawa must immediately approve the Teck Frontier Project.
Rumours have circulated for the last week that the Liberals might 'delay' the project.
Well, we in Alberta know what the federal government means by a 'delay' - they mean constant, never-ending regulation, litigation, and negotiation with special interest groups until project backers run out of time and money and have no choice but to give up, letting the Liberals claim they didn't cancel anything.
In the middle of an economic crisis, the federal government wants to cancel yet another of the few bright lights that could create thousands of jobs and help revitalize Alberta's economy.
We won't let that happen again.
There must be no more delays, no more cancellations, and no more taking advantage of Alberta's resource revenue while rejecting our resources!
A failure to approve the Teck project will lead to an existential crisis for Alberta, and a constitutional crisis in Canada.
Foreign activists, media organizations, and even his own MPs are all lobbying Trudeau to delay or cancel the project.
Now is the time for every Albertan to stand up and tell the federal government that enough is enough, that our voices matter too.
Help us get 100,000 Albertans and Canadians to sign this petition, and then if the project is 'delayed' we'll get 100,000 Albertans and Canadians out on the streets.
