Reject The Emergencies / War Measures Act
Earlier this week, the federal government invoked the Emergencies Act (formerly known as the War Measures Act) for the first time since 1970.
As a reminder, the War Measures Act was invoked in 1970 because the Quebec nationalist group, Front de libération du Québec, set off over 200 bombs across Quebec, kidnapped a British diplomat, and kidnapped and murdered the Deputy Premier of Quebec, Pierre Laporte.
We highlight this most recent usage of the War Measures Act to explain the extremely high bar required to invoke this massive expansion in government powers, and even then its usage was opposed by the NDP on civil liberties grounds.
Since 1970, Canada has faced many crises in many different forms.
The Emergencies / War Measure Act was not used to resolve the Oka Crisis, a series of protests where multiple deaths and hundreds of injuries occurred, the Calendonia land dispute, the extended blockade of pipelines and railways in 2020 and 2021, the September 11th attacks, or even the COVID-19 pandemic itself.
This is because the Emergencies / War Measures Act contains extremely strict rules about when it may be used.
Just one of these many restrictions says that a crisis must “exceed the capacity or authority of a province to deal with it” before the federal government may step in and take over.
The crisis must also be of a nationwide nature, not restricted to just a small geographic area.
Given all the border blockades across the country were handled and ended by provincial governments before the federal government even invoked the Act, and the only remaining protest is the one in his own backyard in Ottawa, the current protest clearly fails to meet this criteria.

Unfortunately, the nature of the Emergencies / War Measures Act is that it can be initially invoked unilaterally by the government without a vote in Parliament, and a vote in Parliament need only occur if the government wishes to extend the emergency beyond seven days.
While courts may ultimately rule that the Prime Minister's usage of this law was illegal, the requirement to hold a vote in Parliament presents an opportunity to end this government overreach immediately.
The government has already announced that they intend to attempt to extend the emergency by holding a vote in Parliament, but because the government holds only a minority in the Parliament and the Senate, the opposition and independents have a very real opportunity to block the government's plan.
That's why it's vital that we call on every single member of the Parliament of Canada, including Members of Parliament and Senators from all parties, to protect the rights and freedoms of Canadians by rejecting the federal government's invocation of the Emergencies / War Measures Act.
Countless legal experts and civil liberties groups across the country have already denounced the use of this law and called on the government to reverse course.

Regarding your vote on the ‘Emergencies Act’
I ask that you chose from your own Divinity and not just your own Humanity.
Kindly take a few moments to explore and ask yourself:
.Can you live with this choice?
.Does this choice serve and honor the people of Canada, who have entrusted you to reliably represent them?
.Does this choice bring out the best in you, or does it bring out the worst in you?
. Is your choice an act of faith, or is your choice an act of fear?
.Does your choice empower you, or does your choice disempower you?
.Are you standing in your own power or are you trying to please another?
.Will your choice bring you long term fulfilment or will it bring you short-term gratification?
.Will this choice add to your life force or will it rob you of your energy?
.Will you use this choice as a catalyst to grow and evolve or will you use it to beat yourself up?
Below I am sharing my declaration and why I strongly oppose the invocation of the ‘Emergencies Act’.
The invocation does not meet the necessary criteria to be invoked – it’s government overreach and a total power grab by our Prime Minister Trudeau. He has repeatedly proven through his actions and words that he wishes to ‘Rule’ rather than ‘Govern our Nation’ and that he would like to remove all opposition. A critical thinker will easily conclude that this is precisely why he had a costly, unnecessary mid term election; it was an attempt to gain a majority government. Checks and balances are in place to protect democracy and should be a bipartisan requirement, that ensures freedom of thought and in turn the evolution of humanity. He has repeatedly demonstrated that he wants all checks and balances gone! Our parliament and senate have an important role and at this critical juncture, we the people trust they will make the moral choice and vote against the unwelcome and dangerous ‘Emergencies Act’. Voting in the ‘EA puts Canada on a trajectory toward a Tyrannical Communist State. Our P.M., is on record expressing his admiration of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), his actions thus far prove that he has the disposition of a Tyrant. This is a much bigger threat to the Canadian people than the Convoy for Freedom. Voting against the Act will protect Canada, the people, our Democracy and our future.
It is important to note that given the opportunity to speak to the demonstrators and working-class Canadians, who are exercising their charter and well justified right to protest against unproven mandates, experimental inoculations/failed vaccines, chartered rights infringements, body autonomy etc… our P.M. Trudeau ‘chose’ to refuse to meet with them, he ‘chose’ to ignore them, he ‘chose’ to use inflammatory language and he ‘chose’ to verbally attack their character. He CHOSE to escalate and not to de-escalate the situation, he ‘chose’ to divide and then he ‘chose’ the ultimate ‘Power Grab’ by invoking the EA. This is calculated! He is not looking to peacefully end the protest, instead he is looking for MORE POWER!
Canadians like me are absolutely horrified by Prime Minister Trudeau’s invocation of the Emergency Act to target the Freedom Convoy protesters and silence political dissenters.
The Act will give one-man unprecedented power over a nation that has lost faith in his leadership. The people have no confidence or trust and do not consent that he gains such power!!! Even provinces are against this.
That’s why, as your constituent, I’m strongly urging you to act to stop the EA from going into full effect when it comes before you for a formal vote. Anyone with foresight should be able to see the tremendous hazard this motion will bring. The threat it brings is immeasurable.
.Can you guarantee that the EA will bring more peace?
.Can you guarantee the EA will cause no harm?
The Freedom Convoy protesters have demonstrated peacefully across Canada, and while civil disobedience may not be politically convenient for the Prime Minister, it does not justify this appalling attack on their most basic of Charter rights.
It is also very disturbing that Trudeau aims to target individuals’ bank accounts. This is unacceptable. These are people that love Canada, democracy and freedom, they are not terrοrists. Many of these people voted him in and all of them pay his salary, it’s an act of treαsοn to turn against them and it is completely undemocratic!
This is most assuredly a brazen attack on our freedom of expression and cannot be tolerated.
Under the EA, Canada’s financial institutions would be granted the power to freeze anyone’s accounts without a court order. How will people pay their mortgages, water, electricity, gas? How will they get to work and put food on the table? If Canada does this, we are lost as a Nation!
If the Emergencies Act that is meant to protect the people, ends up harming the people, it will be a serious, serious deception.
Who’s bank account will be next? It could be your own, it could be a loved ones and it could be for any reason at all…. Just take a quick look at the “Social Credit System” that the regime Trudeau most admires, the CCP, has in place.
No Canadian should be targeted by the government for utilizing their Charter rights to peacefully protest an increasingly tyrannical federal government, and Prime Minister Trudeau’s use of the EA to justify attacks against the Freedom Convoy represents an unprecedented abuse of power. It also gives him power to attack anyone, not just the Convoy. Things can turn very ugly!
Please stop this abuse of power by acting in your capacity to rescind his order.
You have a duty.
Now is the time to allow ‘YOUR INNER VOICE AND WISDOM TO BE STRONGER THAN THE OUTSIDE NOISE AND OPINIONS’.
You were voted in, in good faith.
DO THE RIGHT THING, the KIND THING, THE HUMAIN THING, THE HONOURABLE THING, THE THING THAT SITS RIGHT WITH YOUR SOUL, THAT BRINGS PEACE AND WORTH TO YOUR LIFE!!!
The Country is at stake and so is your own integrity.
A great opportunity to discover what you’re made of!
Which side of history to you want to be on?
We all have ‘Greatness Within Us’ and this Greatness is meant to be shared.
It takes courage to break the chains of limiting belief and recognize your own worth!
You are where you are to make a difference, your own soul will guide you…
Be Brave!
Thank you for your consideration

Section 3 of the Emergencies Act spells out the circumstances under which it may be invoked. These are:
a. A national emergency that seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians and is of such proportions or nature as to exceed the capacity or authority of a province to deal with it, or
b. A national emergency that seriously threatens the ability of the Government of Canada to preserve the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Canada.
NEITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS ARE MET.
