Release The Covid Report
Last year, after the first wave of COVID, the Alberta government spent $475,000 of taxpayer money commissioning KPMG to conduct an independent third-party report into the province's response to the first wave of COVID in Alberta.
The report was designed to help improve the government's response to any potential second wave of COVID, but it wasn't even completed and submitted to the government until the province was most of the way through the third wave!
Even worse, at the time it was commissioned, and repeatedly since, the Alberta government has promised the report would be released publicly.
Now, however, the government has changed its mind and decided that Albertans don't need to know what's in the report.
We disagree.
Albertans paid for the report.
Albertans paid for the government's response to the COVID pandemic.
Albertans benefitted from any good decisions the government made and suffered from any bad decisions the government made.
And yet, we're not even allowed to know what the independent third-party thinks were the good and bad decisions?
This isn't a right-wing or left-wing issue, this is about transparency, accountability, and the right of Albertans to know what their government is doing with their money and their rights.
Our politicians work for us, not the other way around.
It's time the government started acting like it and released their inquiry into Alberta's COVID response
Please sign the petition and then spread the word to your friends, family, co-workers, and every Albertan, to get this report released.
