I feel that plastic bags should have always been at least biodegradable, if not compostable, from the very beginning. In Italy, they had biodegradable plastic bags back in 2010 and earlier. Everyone I know always reused or recycled their plastic bags. After all, are we still going to be able to buy plastic bags for our home garbage? Because most single use bags were definitely used for this.

I think the same should apply to all single use items. I have compostable cutlery that I washed and kept after using, eating while out, just in case I ever needed them in the future.

Banning won’t change anything, knowledge is the key to change.
