Why are elected leaders, Muni. Prov. Fed. not held accountable for mis/dis-information? Implement a ‘3 Strikes and your out’

If governments were honest (not likely) they would build their budgets properly so as not to overtax their citizens!

You need to understand what is essential and what is not. The Calgary Climate Change Emergency is not essential. Fire the staff and stop buying EVs. You are way ahead of the curve.

Work more on real Economy – bring real businesses that can create full time long term jobs and sustain the services and the City. Draining the citizens money is not a sustainable way to go, cannot last and nobody would want to come to Calgary (this adds to other issues like the safety, opioid, alcohol, gaming addictions that are big issues as well and there are no solutions that work yet ). There are businesses that shouldn’t survive and are not good sustainable economy:

    1) restaurants and stores that sell hard liquor – DUI, alcoholism, domestic violence, children with one parent with lousy job that cannot pay rent, homelessness, no food on the table, children enter gangs just to survive because the parent cannot provide; consider costs to society to deal with these issues. Also should not be tips in restaurants, the owners have to pay decently their employees not to make me pay them.

    2) casinos- gaming addictions, divorces, homelessness, suicides, money laundering, families that are destroyed, children without one parent…, financial hardship.

So, some businesses like above do not have to survive, they bring only hardship to society, so I don’t have to pay extra taxes to keep them going.
