Maybe the “public” servants could back away from the trough and give up one or even two of their multi pensions. One is enough! Seems there’s never enough slop at the troughs for some.

Pay cut for all politicians, until they start working a full week like everyone else.

Please learn to spend within our means and make Calgary a can-do city again. Right now people are leaving in droves and inefficiencies are killing our ability to get things accomplished that would improve Calgarians lives and lifestyles. Don’t add more taxes, find efficiencies internally. Get along with the unions by making deals that both the City and the unions would re-sign 1-3 years later, in other words make deals that are fair to both sides. We don’t need 3 shovel leaners and 1 person working at each site. Instead, let’s put every one of those people to work to make more projects go faster and get done! Leave arts patronage to arts patrons! Interesting architecture costs the same as bland design, so spend the money wisely but as if it were your money, not just an endless supply of residential and business tax. Stimulate small business by not overtaxing them and you’ll plant seeds that bring vibrancy back to the downtown core and high traffic corridors without having to give people temporary tax relief. Think long term!

I believe the city council should cut services accross the board so that taxes need not be raised. Why do the public have to live within their means, but not the governments? Why the double standards?

It is hard to accept increases on taxes when seniors like myself have to continue to work to be able to pay just the bills there are just necessary to survive yet you continue to fund expensive art work just to name one. I do want an increase
